Delal Seker

Delal Şeker is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher whose practice encompasses writing, painting, installation, video, and research-based artistic production. Her work engages with magical realism, memory, interspecies relations, and speculative narratives, through which she investigates alternative ways of living and modes of coexistence from her own political perspective.

After graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at Hacettepe University, Delal Şeker Bulut studied Dramatic Writing at Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History and Geography, where she completed her thesis, “Traces of Conceptual Art in the Texts of Sevim Burak”. She subsequently earned her M.A. in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University with the thesis “Art and New Possibilities in the Anthropocene”. During this period, she developed an interdisciplinary research practice, producing works that reimagined her narratives through diverse media, including video, sculpture, and installation.

Her short stories, poems, and research articles have appeared in various literary journals and publications. She has translated poetry collections and has written and illustrated children's books. Her work has been presented in numerous group exhibitions.

She further expanded her research practice through the course “Design and the Posthumanist Perspective” at the University of Gothenburg, where she also joined the artist-research collective of the same name. This experience informed the development of new methodologies that bring together artistic research, design inquiry, and posthumanist thought.

In 2025, she became one of the co-founders of “Circa Anatolia (CA)”, an initiative dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary artistic research and collaborative production between Türkiye and Sweden. Within CA, she develops international artistic research projects and leads the design and curatorial direction of “Toİ Gallery”, an exhibition platform established as part of the initiative.
